A/N: This is me being bitchy, so feel free to skip.

On one of the message boards I'm a member of, someone posted the following in a "holiday pics" thread:

My pic was taken in Berlin when I was at the Jewish Monument, walking between the steele. (I tried to translate it from German - in German it said: Mein Bild ist in Berlin gemacht worden, als ich beim jüdischen Denkmal durch die Stehlen gegangen bin. (appr.))

The thing is, no, the things are:

- The word "Stele" (= "stele") is not spelled with an "h" (nor would it be spelled with a double "e" in English.)
- And it's not the "jüdische Denkmal" but it's the "Denkmal für die ermordeten Juden Europas" (= "Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe") or the "Holocaust Mahnmal" - or the "Holocaust Denkmal", that's possible, too - (= the "Holocaust Memorial" (or the "Holocaust Monument" - but that does sound very, very weird/wrong in English, doesn't it?)) for short.

*headdesks*

Oh, why do I have to be such a bitch about things like that? But for some reasons things like that piss me off a lot...

*shuts up*
